Jesus Could Do No Mighty Works

Jesus Could Do No Mighty Works

I think it is simply amazing that a prophet is considered as nothing in his hometown where everyone knows him better than anywhere else. I know a pastor that travels all over the world ministering to people. There is manifestations of salvations, healings and miracles everywhere he goes. However, in his hometown, he has a church of about thirty members. Jesus found that to be true in His ministry.

Unbelief kept Jesus from doing mighty works in His own hometown. The people were astonished at what they saw, saying “what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that even such mighty works are wrought by His hands,” Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Judah, and Simon? Jesus said unto them. A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and in his own house. And could there do no mighty works, save that He laid His hands upon a few sick folks and healed them. And He marveled at their unbelief” [Mark 6:3-6]. Just think what the people could have had if they could have seen Jesus for who He was. Just think what could happen today if people could believe that Jesus could still do the same today through His Body. If only His Body could believe. “As He IS so are we in this world” [1John 4:17].  He tells us over and over in His word that He is still doing the same as He always did. ” Verily, Verily, I say unto you the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works shell he do; because I go unto my Father” [John 14:12].  Now that is only for those who believe that is possible and that it is still for today. I tell people all time I couldn’t heal a Nat’s wing, but the one who lives in me can heal anything. His Name is Jesus. He said “And these signs shall follow them that believe, in My name Shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues, pick up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover” [Mark 16:17-18]. Once again that is for those who believe.

There are those who say well, that is not for today. I ask where does the word split off from John three where it tells about Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness as a type of Jesus being lifted up on the cross to the scripture, we all confess “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life” [John 3:16]. In the same letter is where we find He said, “The works that I do shall he [the believer] do also, and Greater works” The Bible is not a smorgasbord that we can go through and pick out what we feel comfortable with and say the other is not for us. The Bible says, “Forsake not the assembling yourselves together” A lot of people don’t like that either. These things may seem hard or harsh, but it’s because I love people and care what happens to them that I write the Word of God out plain. If we don’t believe what the Word of God says, then our belief is wrong, and we bind Jesus from helping us.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever [Hebrews 13:8] God said, “I change not” To receive His mighty works in our lives, is to “Meet His Requirements” according to the word of God, then receive them by faith in what he is able to do. What He has promised He is faithful to perform. Let Him “Do His Mighty Works in and Through You.”
