One Trail to Victory

One Trail to Victory

This is a reminder in this time of the fear of the news media reports. Lets believe the Word of God! There are so many in the Body who are sick, impaired or distorted. My heart hurts for all the pain and illness. In the Bible, Jesus was either on His way to heal someone or just finished healing someone. It is written, “By His stripes we are healed [Is 53]. “Are” is pointing to the cross from the other side of the cross,” By His stripes we were healed” [1Peter 2:24]. “Were” is pointing back to the cross from this side. He healed those who came to Him in faith. Let’s see what they did.

One incident was, “And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed Him, and saying “thou son of David, have mercy on us.” And when He was come into the house, the blind men came unto Him: and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto Him, Yea Lord. Then touched He their eyes, saying, According to your Faith be it done unto you” [Matt. 9:27-29]. I noticed some things in this passage for us today.

They followed Him: “And They immediately left their ship and their father and followed Him” [Matt 4:22]. The ship was a symbol of their material things and their father was a symbol of their family. Jesus wants us to be willing to leave all to follow Him. He doesn’t always ask us to do that, but He does not want things or people to be more important to us than he is. Anything more important to us than He is, has become Our God!

They Called out to Him: Blind Bartimaeus was on the side of the road and heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth and he began to cry out, and say son of David, have mercy on me” [Mark 10:47]. The people tried to shut him up, but he cried out all the more. That lets us know we do not let people keep us from calling out to Jesus, even in public. Who do we fear? Jesus said “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess before My Father which is in Heaven” [Matt.10:32]. If we don’t, He don’t! We cannot be secret service Christians.

They Believed: “The centurion answered and said, Lord I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed” [Matt8:8]. The centurion not only believed, he had great respect and a humbleness toward the minister, Jesus Christ. I believe this shows that being humble is a great attribute in healing. So is respect for the presence of God. Respect toward the minister of God. Jesus said “Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believes on Me, the works that I do shall He do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go to My Father” [John 14:12]. Not greater in quality but in quantity. So, we need to respect the one that God flows through, to lay on hands and pray. That’s only if you desire answered prayer. He said do you believe I am able to do this? They said Yea Lord! Do you believe I will flow through my minister to do this?

These men followed Jesus, they called out to Him, they believed, they came to Him! Our trail for help and victory.

“Then touched He their eyes, saying, according to your faith be it done unto you” Jesus still has compassion to heal today through faith, His blood and His Name. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Trust Him to lead you in “One Path to Victory” He is that Path!
